VCS definately tested all my problem solving skills that I have acquired over the years. Here I built websites according to figma designs with advanced features which don't really come standard with CMS builders. Each and every project was unique and required a different skillset to meet customer requirements. VCS also won a MEA African Business award for the "Most Innovative Web Design & Branding Agency 2024". We later recieved 2 MARcom Awards, through our partnership with The Branded Company in USA, where we manage all of their development. It's great knowing that I was the sole developer behind those achievements! My tasks included server and website maintenance, as well as 3rd party plugin or software recommendations and custom fitting them into the project.

What initially started off as a part time consultancy lead into something alot bigger and definately needed my hands on skills. I achieved my first taste to the international digital world, working on some projects in the UK and USA. Most of the time I used my knowledge in meetings to lure in potential clients. I supervised Jnr Technical SEO staff and the Jnr Web Developer whilst handling the Senior Development work which came in. I would also assist with Technical SEO tasks and internal link building as most projects were at an enterprise level and since this was a startup digital agency it needed my fast pace skills to meet targets and clients expectations.

Vaperite is the leading brand in the vaping industry. As a tobacco company google prohibits any form of ads that may help the industry thrive. It has been my duty to rank Vaperite organically for numerous keywords and brands in South Africa, and currently we are sitting on position #1 for many such keywords in SA. To ensure this, I handle on-page SEO whilst liaising with copy writers on which content needs to be on our blog pages for higher rankings. I manage our social media staff and backlink service providers to ensure our rankings are always maintained. Furthermore, I am the only developer present at the office, handling the front-end and back-end integrations. Its also part of my duties to setup any branch laptops and maintain the systems and users access levels needed for branch management. Occasionally I help out with more hands-on matters, such as barcode attributions and also assist on which products would be worth while to be sold at Vaperite, with the assistance of SEO research tools.
